Xanthurus Cream Angelfish
Xanthurus Cream Angelfish (Apolemichthys xanthurus)
The Xanthurus Cream Angelfish, also known as the Indian Yellowtail Angelfish, Cream Angelfish, or Yellowtail Black Angelfish, boasts a distinct yellow caudal fin in line with its Latin name, while a silvery-white outline adorns the dorsal fin. Highly adaptable to aquarium life, this angelfish thrives in a minimum 125-gallon tank with ample hiding spots and live rock for grazing. However, caution is advised in a reef setup, as it tends to nip at stony and soft corals, as well as clam mantles. Maintaining only one specimen per tank is recommended.
Being hermaphroditic, the Xanthurus Cream Angelfish lacks distinguishing features to differentiate between males and females. Its diet should encompass Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysis or frozen shrimp, and various meaty items.
