Purple Queen Anthias (Holacanthus ciliaris)

First discovered in 1927 off the coast of New Caledonia, the Queen Purple Anthias, also known as the Amethyst or Sailfin Anthias, is renowned for its striking coloration and distinctive dorsal fin. Its predominantly bright purple hue is enhanced by an orange band running from the tip of its nose to the base of its pectoral fin.
