Heniochus Butterflyfish (Heniochus acuminatus)

The Heniochus Black & White Butterflyfish, also known as the Longfin Bannerfish, features a notably elongated white dorsal filament. Its body is predominantly white with two broad black stripes. The soft dorsal and caudal fins are yellow, and there are black markings above the eyes. Heniochus species are often referred to as Bannerfish rather than Butterflyfish.

This species can thrive in a 125-gallon or larger aquarium with other peaceful fish and conspecifics, provided they are introduced simultaneously. The elongated white dorsal filament waves gracefully like a banner as the fish swims.

However, the Heniochus Black & White Butterflyfish is not considered reef-safe. It prefers a diet of small meaty foods and herbivore preparations.
