Springerii Damselfish (Chrysiptera cf. springeri)

The Blue Sapphire Damselfish, native to Indonesia, boasts a stunning blue coloration with black-edged fins. When stressed, this species has the remarkable ability to turn completely black, helping it evade predators. Like other members of the Chrysiptera genus, it can become aggressive towards slower-moving tank mates, so it’s essential to provide plenty of live rock for territories and hiding spots in the aquarium. This hardy species is an excellent choice for beginners and makes a great companion in saltwater aquariums of 30 gallons or larger. The Blue Sapphire Damselfish is reef-safe, coexisting well with corals and invertebrates.
