Springerii Dottyback
Springerii Dottyback (Pseudochromis springerii)
The Springerii Dottyback, also known as Springer’s Dottyback or Springer’s Pseudochromis, features a primarily dark blue body with three vertical face bands of light blue and deep blue outlines on the fins. This curious and lively fish brings a unique personality to any saltwater setup, providing years of enjoyment for enthusiasts.
A 30-gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of hiding places is ideal for the Springerii Dottyback. This fish is known to prey on pests like bristleworms, making it an excellent choice for reef aquariums. If you plan to keep more than one Pseudochromis in the same tank, it’s important to introduce them simultaneously to reduce territorial behavior.
Pseudochromis are exceptionally hardy and durable, making them perfect for both novice and experienced aquarists alike. The Springerii Dottyback should be fed a varied diet specifically designed for carnivores. In a reef aquarium, feeding once daily is recommended.
