Blue Headed Tilefish
Blue Headed Tilefish Goby (Hoplolatilus starcki)
The Blue Jaw Tilefish, also referred to as Starck’s Tilefish, Blueface Tilefish, Blue Tilefish, and Bluehead Tilefish, is characterized by its blue head and pale-yellow body. As a hardy species, it requires a tank of at least 50 gallons with a minimum of 3 inches of mixed substrate for burrowing and a securely fitting lid to prevent escape. This fish thrives with tank mates of its own kind and needs ample swimming space due to its active nature. Notably, the Blue Jaw Tilefish can successfully spawn in captivity. To maintain its health, it should be fed a varied diet of marine fish, crustacean flesh, and mysis or brine shrimp, with feedings occurring three times daily.
