Blue Spotted (Yellow) Rabbitfish
Blue Spotted (Yellow) Rabbitfish (Siganus corallinus)
The Blue Spotted Rabbitfish, also known as the Blue Spotted Spinefoot, typically inhabits the reefs of the Indo-West Pacific in pairs. This fish has an oblong body that starts yellow and develops a stunning pattern of blue spots as it matures, eventually covering its entire body.To thrive, it requires a minimum 120-gallon aquarium. While generally peaceful, the Blue Spotted Rabbitfish may exhibit territorial behavior when housed with other rabbitfish. It can be kept with more aggressive species and in pairs. Its venomous dorsal spines, which can be raised when the fish is disturbed, act as a deterrent to predators. Handle this fish with care to avoid potential stings from its venomous spines. The Blue Spotted Rabbitfish is typically reef-safe if well-fed but may nip at or consume some LPS and soft corals if not adequately nourished. Its diet should include a variety of fresh vegetables and algae.
