Crescent Tail Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus lineatus)

The Lineatus Fairy Wrasse is a relatively rare and colorful species native to the waters of Australia. Males and females display distinct coloration patterns; females and subdominant males are adorned with various blue stripes and dots, while dominant males exhibit stunning hues of blue, red, yellow, and purple. If only one individual is introduced to a new tank, it will develop into a dominant male. To create a suitable environment for the Lineatus Wrasse, provide a tank rich in rock work, offering ample hiding spots. Additionally, ensure the tank has a tightly closed lid to prevent escapes. The Lineatus Wrasse is native to the Indo-Pacific region, typically found in coral reefs and lagoons. These vibrant fish are often seen darting among corals and rocks, foraging for food. They thrive in the diverse ecosystems of tropical marine environments, showcasing their striking colors against the backdrop of the reef.

Considered reef-safe, the Lineatus Wrasse poses no threat to corals or other invertebrates in the aquarium. Their natural behavior revolves around foraging among reef structures, making them an excellent addition to reef tanks. In captivity, Lineatus Wrasses can grow to about 4 to 5 inches in length. With proper care and suitable tank conditions, they typically live for 5 to 7 years. Lineatus Wrasses are omnivorous and thrive on a varied diet that includes small crustaceans, copepods, brine shrimp, and other protein-rich foods. Supplementing their diet with high-quality frozen or live foods ensures their nutritional needs are met.
