Skunk Tilefish (Hoplolatius marcosi)

The Skunk Tilefish is native to the deeper rubble zones of the Indo-Pacific and is typically seen swimming in pairs. This species features an elongated white body with a striking red line that runs along its lateral line. Its body, fins, and eyes also exhibit a subtle blue tint, enhancing its visual appeal. Known for its peaceful nature, the Skunk Tilefish makes a lovely addition to any community aquarium.

To thrive, it requires a 50-gallon or larger tank with ample swimming space and at least 3 inches of sandy substrate for burrowing. Keeping them in pairs helps them acclimate more comfortably to their new environment. Additionally, since the Skunk Tilefish is an excellent jumper, a secure canopy is essential.

Their diet should consist of a variety of meaty foods, including chopped marine fish, shrimp, and frozen mysis or brine shrimp. Ideally, they should be fed at least twice a day.
