High Hat
The High-Hat, also known as the Hi-Hat, is recognized by its shimmering silvery body accented with dark horizontal stripes and a prominent, tall dorsal fin.
This species thrives in a peaceful community setup, ideally in a 70-gallon or larger aquarium with a sandy substrate and plenty of hiding spots. During the acclimation period, the Hi-Hat often remains hidden until it feels secure in its new environment.
To encourage it to emerge, offer regular feedings that include a variety of live foods like blackworms and brine shrimp, along with prepared meaty items. When hungry, the Hi-Hat will sift through the sand in search of worms, crustaceans, and small fish—and may even consume the occasional fireworm.
