Bicolor Anthias
Bicolor Anthias (Pseudanthias bicolor)
The Bicolor Anthias forms massive schools among the reefs. Males display a more vibrant coloration with a violet body and yellow streak running along the back through the upper caudal lobe, while females are typically lavender with a yellow back and caudal fin. The male’s dorsal fin is edged in purple, with an elongated first ray. Known for their hardiness, Bicolor Anthias make a splendid addition to saltwater reef or fish-only aquariums.
These fish thrive best when kept with their own species in an aquarium of at least 125 gallons. They are also well-suited for fish-only, invertebrate, or reef aquariums. Dwelling primarily in the middle of the tank, they appreciate having several hiding places. It’s important not to keep them with aggressive fish, as this can cause them to become withdrawn from the rest of the community.
