Black Cap Basslet

Blackcap Basslet (Gramma melacara)

The Black Cap Basslet is an excellent choice for a reef aquarium, posing a threat only to the smallest invertebrates like copepods, isopods, and amphipods. A minimum 30-gallon tank with rock caves for hiding is recommended. Once established, Black Cap Basslets can become territorial, so they should not be housed with other basslets. As deep-water dwellers, they thrive better in aquariums with slightly subdued lighting.
