Blackfin Damselfish
Blackfin Damselfish (Pomacentrus magniseptus)
The Blackfin Damselfish is characterized by its charcoal-grey body adorned with a network of broad dark scale margins. It features vertically oval, pearly-white to pale-grey spots on each scale, arranged in rows along its sides. The species also has a prominent black spot on the base of its pectoral fins, charcoal-grey dorsal, anal, and caudal fins, and blackish pelvic fins. Notably, it lacks scales on the preorbital bone and most of the suborbital bone. This species was previously mistaken for Pomacentrus philippinus, which is found off Western Australia.
