Blackfoot Rose Skunk Clownfish
Blackfoot Rose Skunk Clownfish (Amphiprion nigripes)
Wild-collected Blackfoot clowns often struggle with handling and shipping stress, exhibit nervous dispositions, and generally suffer from diseases when brought into captivity. In contrast, SA-bred Blackfoot clowns are disease-free, exhibit a peaceful demeanor, and maintain a bright peach color. Born and raised in captivity, they acclimate well to the environments and foods of retail settings and home aquariums, and they ship well.
Sustainable Aquatics breeds this species in large volumes, offering them to retailers at a significantly lower price than wild-collected specimens. Blackfoot clowns grow to a little over 4 inches in length, with SA typically shipping them at around 2 inches in total length. This species makes an interesting and unique addition for aquarists.
