Blue Throat Fairy Wrasse
Blue Throat Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus cyanogularis)
The Blue Throat Fairy Wrasse is found from Indonesia to the Philippines, thriving in the rubble areas of outer reefs. This peaceful species adds vibrant color to any reef aquarium and showcases increased color intensity in males during courtship. Their coloration can shift based on their mood.
Ideal for a fish-only or reef aquarium of 90 gallons or larger, the Blue Throat Fairy Wrasse is both active and peaceful, posing no threat to corals or invertebrates. A single male can be kept with a group of females, which should be introduced before or simultaneously with the male. Since these wrasses are known jumpers, a tight-fitting canopy is essential. Their diet should consist of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis shrimp, frozen brine shrimp, and other meaty foods, along with high-quality marine flakes and pellets. Due to their high activity level, they should be fed several times a day.
