Bluefin Angelfish (Centropyge multispinis)

The Bluefin Angelfish, also known as the Dusky Angelfish, Dusky Cherub, Manyspined Angelfish, Multi-spined Angelfish, and Black Angelfish, boasts a blackish-blue “dusky” color with lighter blue marbling on the dorsal, caudal, and anal fins. Additionally, it features a thin, sapphire-blue outline on the anal and caudal fins.

For optimal well-being, a minimum tank size of 70 gallons with ample hiding spots and live rock for grazing is recommended. The Bluefin Angelfish tends to become more aggressive in smaller environments. Unsuitable for reef habitats, it may nip at sessile invertebrates.

Being hermaphroditic and challenging to breed in captivity, there are no distinguishable color differences between male and female Bluefin Angelfish.

Their diet should consist of Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysis or frozen shrimp, and other meaty foods.
