Bluethroat Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus cyanogularis)

Native to the vibrant reefs stretching from Indonesia to the Philippines, the Blue Throat Fairy Wrasse thrives in the rubble zones along the outer reef slopes. This peaceful and colorful wrasse makes a stunning addition to any reef aquarium. Males are especially eye-catching during courtship, displaying intensified coloration—though their hues can vary depending on mood and environment.

An active and peaceful species, the Blue Throat Fairy Wrasse adds both movement and vivid color to tanks 90 gallons or larger. Ideal for reef environments, it won’t harm corals or invertebrates. A single male can be housed with a group of females, provided they are introduced simultaneously or before the male. Since these wrasses are known jumpers, a secure, tight-fitting lid is highly recommended.

Their diet should consist of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other meaty foods, supplemented with high-quality marine flake and pellet food. Due to their active nature, they should be fed multiple times daily.
