Cherry Anthias (Sacura margaritacea)

The Cherry Anthias, also known as the Sakura Anthias (meaning “cherry blossom” in Japanese), is a large and striking fish. They can grow up to almost 6 inches, with tail filaments adding another 3-4 inches, reaching a total length of nearly 10 inches. As one of the largest species in the aquarium trade, these fish are primarily collected from the deeper waters of Japan, though they originate from various regions of the Western Pacific.
