Desjardini Sailfin Tang (Zebrasoma desjardini) 

The Desjardini Sailfin Tang, also known as the Indian Ocean Sailfin Tang, Desjardin’s Sailfin Tang, or Red Sea Sailfin Tang, features a striking color palette ranging from dark to light gray. It is adorned with light freckles on the nose and yellow freckles on the abdomen. Its body is marked with several vertical yellow stripes of varying widths, complemented by intricate markings on its face. The tail is blue with white freckles, and the fish can dramatically expand its appearance by adjusting its large dorsal and anal fins. For optimal care, a 180-gallon or larger aquarium is essential to provide ample swimming space. The Desjardini Sailfin Tang can be aggressive towards other members of its species, so it’s best to keep only one unless you have a very large tank where multiple individuals can be introduced together. It primarily feeds on filamentous algae. While this tang will consume meaty foods, it is crucial to provide a diet rich in marine-based seaweed and algae. This will enhance its immune system, reduce aggression, and improve overall health. Feed it dried seaweed tied to a rock or using a veggie clip and offer it at least three times a week
