Golden Headed Sleeper Goby
Golden Headed Sleeper Goby (Valenciennea strigata)
The Sleeper Gold Head Goby, also known as the Pennant Glider, Yellowhead Sleeper, or Blueband Goby, features a striking yellow-gold head with a sapphire-blue stripe below its eyes, and an off-white body. For optimal care, it should be housed in a 30-gallon or larger aquarium with live sand substrate and a populated refugium. A well-sealed canopy is essential, as the goby is generally peaceful but territorial with its own kind unless they are a mated pair. This goby sifts through the sand, feeding on the substrate and its inhabitants while helping to keep the sand well-oxygenated. Its diet should include a mix of live and frozen brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, live black worms, and other prepared carnivore foods, with frequent feedings recommended.
