Hector’s Goby
Hector’s Goby (Koumansetta hectori)
Hector’s Goby, also known as Hector’s Hover Goby, features a striking bluish-black body with bright yellow horizontal stripes and an eyespot on its dorsal fin. It thrives in a 10-gallon or larger aquarium with ample hiding spots and can be kept in a reef tank where it will sift sand and graze on hair algae. This goby is non-aggressive towards other fish and invertebrates. Feeding is straightforward, as Hector’s Goby accepts a variety of marine foods, including large amounts of algae, worms, and prepared foods like vitamin-enriched mysis shrimp and brine shrimp.
