Huma (Picasso) Triggerfish
Huma Picasso Triggerfish (Rhinecanthus aculeatus)Â
The Humu Picasso Triggerfish, also known as the Humuhumu Triggerfish or Picasso Triggerfish, is celebrated for its quirky, colorful appearance. It features a tan body adorned with dark gradient bands, along with striking blue and black stripes on its head and a bright yellow stripe running from cheek to cheek, complemented by deeply set-back eyes.
This species thrives in a spacious aquarium of at least 180 gallons, equipped with rocks and caves, as it enjoys rearranging its environment. It communicates with a distinctive “grunting” sound and serves as a fascinating conversation piece.
To maintain its health, the Humu Picasso Triggerfish requires a varied diet of meaty foods, including squid, krill, clams, small fish, and hard-shelled shrimp, which help manage its continuously growing teeth.
