The Captive-Bred Nearly Naked Ocellaris Clownfish is a unique and visually striking variant of the classic Ocellaris, distinguished by its lack of the typical white stripes, save for subtle cheek spots where the head bar would normally be and occasional small body markings. Hardy and well-suited for aquariums of 20 gallons or more with ample live rock, this clownfish can form symbiotic relationships with anemones like Carpet, Sebae, Bulb, or Ritteri, though it doesn’t require one to thrive. Captive-bred for enhanced adaptability and resilience, it’s an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced aquarists and can coexist peacefully with other captive-bred clownfish if introduced simultaneously. It breeds easily in home aquariums, with the larger female and smaller male forming a bonded pair that guards their eggs, which hatch in 6–11 days depending on temperature. The fry must be raised separately and fed rotifers followed by baby brine shrimp. As an omnivore, the Nearly Naked Ocellaris Clownfish thrives on a varied diet of meaty foods and greens, readily accepting marine flakes with spirulina, as well as frozen and freeze-dried options.
