Percula Clownfish (Amphiprion percula)

The Captive-Bred Percula Clownfish, also known as the True Percula or Clown Anemonefish, is typically found in association with anemones on the reefs of Oceania, the Indo-Pacific, and the Great Barrier Reef. These clownfish can be seen either individually or more commonly in pairs or small groups within the same anemone. Captive-Bred Percula Clownfish are predominantly orange and white when young, with the black sections between their white stripes darkening as they mature. Often confused with the Ocellaris Clownfish, the Percula Clownfish can be distinguished by its brighter orange coloration and thicker black outlines on its white body stripes. Their vibrant colors and engaging personalities make them a delightful addition to reef aquariums. Captive-Bred Percula Clownfish offer several advantages over their wild-harvested counterparts. They are generally hardier and more accustomed to the conditions of home aquariums, making them an excellent choice for both novice and experienced aquarists.
