Randall’s Anthias
Randall’s Anthias (Pseudanthias randalli)
Male Randall’s Anthias exhibit red and magenta stripes, while females are distinguished by a yellow nose. For optimal care, they should be housed in a species-specific tank of at least 70 gallons. When keeping a small group, a minimum of a 125-gallon aquarium is recommended. Males are best kept singly or with several females. These Anthias prefer the lower areas of the tank and benefit from having multiple hiding places.
Anthias species are hermaphroditic; if the dominant male dies, the largest female in the group typically transforms to replace him.
