Rusty Angelfish (Centropyge ferrugata)

The Rusty Angelfish earns its name from its dominant red or amber coloration adorned with diminishing black dots from dorsal to anal and pelvic fins. The anal fin is dark, while both dorsal and anal fins are outlined in vibrant sapphire-blue.

To thrive, the Rusty Angelfish necessitates a minimum 70-gallon tank with ample live rock for hiding and grazing. While not suitable for reef aquariums, as it tends to nip at stony and soft corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles, it can coexist as the sole Dwarf Angelfish in the tank.

A balanced diet for the Rusty Angelfish should consist of Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysis shrimp, and other meaty items.
