Snowflake Eel (Echidna nebulosa)

The Snowflake Eel, with its striking appearance, thrives in well-maintained aquariums of at least 50 gallons, featuring secure canopies and ample live rock. While it can grow up to 39 inches in the wild, captive specimens are generally smaller, typically not exceeding 24 inches. Its hardy nature makes it a resilient choice, though care must be taken to prevent escapes. It’s compatible with fish it can’t swallow and some invertebrates, but avoid crustaceans. In captivity, it feeds on a variety of meaty foods and can be hand-fed with caution due to its potential to bite.
