Spotted Moray Eel (Gymnothorax miliaris)
The Spotted Moray eel, also known by various names such as conger or white-jawed moray, is indeed a striking species with its long, snake-like body and distinctive spots. Typically around 60 cm in length, it can reach up to 2 meters. Its pale yellow or white body with reddish-brown to dark-brown spots provides effective camouflage in its varied habitats, ranging from shallow waters to depths of 200 meters. Found in the Western Atlantic and around certain Atlantic islands, this eel is a resilient inhabitant of diverse marine environments.
