Squareback Anthias

Squareback Anthias (Pseudanthias pleurotaenia)

Because of its distinctive coloration, the Squareback Anthias goes by several names including Squarespot, Purple Blotch Basslet, Squareblock, Square, or Mirror Anthias. Females typically display a yellow body with a lavender belly, often adorned with a delicate blue line running from the nose to the pectoral fin. In contrast, males are primarily pink with a lavender belly, featuring a lighter rectangular shape on their sides.
