Surge Wrasse (Thalassoma purpureum)

The Surge Wrasse, also known as the Green-Blocked Wrasse, Purple Wrasse, or Red and Green Wrasse, is a species native to the southeast Atlantic Ocean, extending through the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It typically inhabits reefs and rocky coastlines, particularly in areas with strong wave action, at depths ranging from the surface to 10 meters (33 feet). While it holds minor significance for local commercial fisheries, the Surge Wrasse is popular as a game fish and is commonly found in the aquarium trade.
