Wide-Barred Shrimp Goby
Wide Barred Shrimp Goby (Amblyeleotris latifasciata)
The Wide-barred Shrimp Goby hails from the rubble zones of the Indo-Pacific and is often found in association with a pistol shrimp. This elongated fish features brown bars across its body and speckled brown and blue fins. It is a peaceful species that typically remains close to a small cave or burrow and may form a symbiotic relationship with a pistol shrimp.
For optimal care, the Wide-barred Shrimp Goby should be housed in a 10-gallon or larger aquarium with a sand substrate for burrowing. It thrives with peaceful tank mates and ample hiding spots. When kept in groups or pairs, introduce them to the aquarium simultaneously.
Its diet should include a variety of fresh or frozen chopped seafood, along with brine and mysis shrimp. Feed it at least once daily.
