Yellow Candy Hogfish (Bodianus bimaculatus)

The Yellow Candy Hogfish, also known as the Twospot Slender Hogfish or Yellow Hogfish, is distinguished by its bright yellow coloration, adorned with subtle red horizontal stripes and a distinctive black spot behind the eye and near the tail.

For this species, a tank of at least 30 gallons with ample hiding spots is recommended. The Yellow Candy Hogfish is a peaceful fish that acclimates quickly to most aquariums. If you plan to keep more than one, introduce them simultaneously to minimize territorial disputes. Mature individuals might show an interest in smaller ornamental shrimp, especially if introduced after the hogfish has settled in the reef tank.

The preferred diet includes meaty foods such as vitamin-enriched brine shrimp or mysis shrimp, along with high-quality marine flake food.
